Opening of a two PhD (Young Researcher) positions in 2019

The Department of Theoretical Physics at the Jozef Stefan Institute and the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia invite applications for two 4-year PhD positions in theoretical particle physics starting 1 November 2019 or soon thereafter. The High Energy Theory group has broad interests in the areas of particle physics phenomenology with emphasis on research areas in beyond the standard model physics, flavor phenomenology, lattice field theory , neutrinos, top and Higgs physics, dark matter, grand unified and supersymmetric theories.

The Jozef Stefan Institute functions as a primary center for fundamental research in Slovenia including theoretical and experimental high-energy particle physics (large member groups of Belle, BelleII and ATLAS collaborations), condensed matter physics, and bio-physics. Many members of the Institute hold dual appointments with the Department of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ljubljana. University of Ljubljana is the oldest and largest University in Slovenia. It is a comprehensive, research oriented University enrolling close to 40,000 students across all fields of study, close to 1000 of those at the Department of Mathematics and Physics.

Requirements
Applicants must have a master degree and relevant experience in theoretical particle physics. Applicants from all countries are welcome. International applicants whose mother tongue is not English or Slovenian have to provide a proof of English proficiency. Applications should be submitted electronically to hep-th@ijs.si and should include: - cover letter,
- curriculum vitae with list of publications,
- statement of research interests,
- master thesis,
- the names of two referees who should be asked by the candidate to send letters of recommendation to the above e-address.
