This COST session will address, in the context of agent-based socio-economic models for policy-making, topics such as:
    • the use the models as a tool for analyzing and mitigating the consequences of exogenous extreme events such as an earth quake, an epidemic, a major terrorist act
    • the endogenous emergence of extreme events in agent-based models: detection, explanation, analysis, mitigation
    • the use of agent based models for the economic valuation of extreme events
Please submit a full paper or an abstract before January 31, 2009, BOTH TO christophe.deissenberg@univmed .fr AND TO registration, indicating "Participant of COST satellite workshop" in the "Comments and Special Wishes" field of the registration form.
