- Call for paper submission for the Zurich workshop
"Extreme events in agent-based socio-economic models"
within the International Workshop
Coping with Crises in Complex Socio-Economic Systems ETH Zurich, June 8-13, 2009.
The Zurich Workshop, with its impressive list of
invited speakers, promises to be one of the major
scientific events of the year. This COST session
will address, in the context of agent-based
socio-economic models for policy-making, topics such as:
- the use the models as a
tool for analyzing and mitigating the
consequences of exogenous extreme events such as an
earth quake, an epidemic, a major terrorist act
- the endogenous emergence of
extreme events in agent-based models: detection,
explanation, analysis, mitigation
- the use of agent based
models for the economic valuation of extreme events
Please submit a full paper or an abstract before ,

Members of COST-MP0801 whose paper is accepted will normally be
entitled to the usual COST reimbursement for their travel. However, they will have to pay the regular Zurich
